Usage analytics

To understand how Marine Deicer is used and to keep it working, Natural Waterscapes records usage of this website in its own database, the same one that holds the usage of naturalwaterscapes.com and its other websites. We do not build advertising profiles from these records.

  • What you do: the pages you open, how long a page is open in the foreground, how far you scroll, actions such as tapping the phone number, following a link to the Natural Waterscapes store or contact page, or completing the setup check on the winter dock protection page, and the domain of links you follow to sites other than Natural Waterscapes' own.
  • How the site performs: page-speed measurements, and error messages from the site with web addresses, email addresses, ids and long numbers removed before they are sent.
  • Where a visit came from: the domain of the site that linked you here and any campaign tags in that link (utm_ values limited to letters, numbers and simple punctuation).
  • Your device, in general terms: device type, operating system and browser family (the full browser identification string is not kept), screen-width range and language.
  • Approximate location: your country and state or province, which our hosting provider derives from your connection. Your IP address, city and postal code are not stored with these records.

A random device id stored in this browser, and a random id for each visit, connect this activity across visits. This is pseudonymous data, not anonymous data. If you arrive by clicking one of our ads, the ad's click identifier is also kept in this browser for up to 90 days, never for a browser that sends Global Privacy Control; this site does not send it anywhere. Usage analytics never accepts free text such as names, email addresses or messages you type. Detailed records are deleted after 6 months, or after 14 months for actions such as tapping the phone number or following a link to the store, and the visits that include one; after that only daily totals without any ids are kept.

Your choices

If your browser sends the Global Privacy Control signal, its visits still count in our usage analytics, but we never pass our records of them to an advertising platform, and no ad click identifier is kept. You can also turn usage analytics off for this browser with the switch below.
