What Safety Hazards Do Marine De-Icers Create?

Operating a marine de-icer creates thin-ice, open-water drowning, and electrical shock hazards. The open-water pocket it creates weakens adjacent ice, so operators should post visible warning signage, use only GFCI-protected circuits, and never use extension cords, which void safety-listing coverage and increase shock hazard.
